The two bedrooms are properly sized (you can fit more than just a bed, imagine that), and having two full bathrooms is honestly a game-changer when you’re traveling with friends or family. No more bathroom queues in the morning, which – let’s face it – can make or break a trip. The kitchen’s got everything you need if you want to cook, though honestly, you’re so close to the South Bank dining scene that you might not bother much. I mean, you can walk to Stokehouse Q in about ten minutes, and the weekend markets are right there too.

What I really liked about this spot is how it sits in actual Brisbane life, you know? You’re not stuck in some tourist bubble in the CBD. Russell Street’s pretty quiet most of the time – I could sleep with the windows open without getting woken up by traffic, which is saying something for Brisbane. The area’s got that nice residential feel during the day, but then you’re literally a fifteen-minute walk to the river and all the South Bank action. Plus – and this matters more than people think – there’s decent street parking if you’ve got a car, though the public transport connections are solid enough that you might not need one. The train station’s close, and honestly, getting into the city center is dead easy.

The apartment itself feels lived-in rather than sterile hotel-room clean, which I actually prefer. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything works properly, the WiFi’s reliable (tested it extensively, obviously), and there’s proper air conditioning that actually keeps the place cool during Brisbane’s sticky summers. The only minor thing – and I’m being picky here – is that the kitchen could use a few more basics if you’re planning to cook serious meals, but there’s a Woolworths about five minutes away, so it’s not exactly a hardship.

What really sold me on this place is the value factor. For what you pay, you get a proper apartment experience in a location that locals actually live in, not some overpriced hotel room in a tower. You can grab your morning coffee at one of the local cafes where the staff actually remember your order, walk along the Brisbane River when you feel like it, and still be close enough to everything touristy when the mood strikes. It’s that sweet spot between being convenient and being real, if that makes sense.
