Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “SK1 – 2 level 2 Bedroom Skyline SkyHome” in my booking confirmation, I thought I’d accidentally reserved some kind of spaceship. But this place actually turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you want to keep quiet about it (though obviously I’m not doing that right now). It’s tucked right in the Brisbane CBD, and I mean properly in the thick of things – you can literally walk to Queen Street Mall in your pajamas if that’s your thing, though I wouldn’t recommend it.
The two-level setup is what really got me. You know how most hotel rooms feel like you’re living in a fancy shoebox? Well, this is the opposite of that. The bedroom’s upstairs, which sounds simple enough, but there’s something about having that separation that makes it feel like you’re actually living somewhere rather than just crashing for the night. The skyline views are legit too – not just some marketing nonsense about “glimpses of the city.” From the upper level, you get a proper eyeful of Brisbane’s downtown, especially nice around sunset when all the glass towers start catching the light. I spent way too much time up there with my morning coffee, watching the city wake up below.
What I didn’t expect was how quiet it actually is inside, considering you’re right in the heart of everything. Brisbane CBD can get pretty lively, especially on weekends when the Valley crowd spills over, but the windows here do their job. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but everything works like it should and the finishes are decent quality. The kitchen’s actually functional too, which is rare in these serviced apartment situations. I mean, you’ve got Eat Street Markets just across the river and some brilliant little cafes tucked around the laneways nearby, but sometimes you just want to make your own breakfast without putting on real clothes, you know?
The 7.8 rating makes sense when you factor in that it’s not perfect – the check-in process was a bit confusing (took me three tries to figure out which entrance was actually mine), and the Wi-Fi had some moody moments. But honestly, for the space you get and being right where all the action is, it’s pretty solid value. You’re walking distance from South Bank, the ferry terminals are close by if you want to explore up and down the river, and if you’re into the whole cultural scene, QPAC and the Gallery of Modern Art are just a pleasant stroll away. The two bedrooms mean you can actually have people stay over without everyone sleeping on top of each other, which is brilliant if you’re planning a longer stay or traveling with family. I’d definitely book it again – just maybe I’d remember to bring my own decent coffee beans next time.

I liked the size of the apartment and the ability to sleep up to 8 people. We had 6. The kitchen was well equipped and a great size. The facilities are fantastic. I love the visitors parking. A life saver for a visiting son with parking being expensive. The apartment was easy to access as far as location. I love the amount of pillows and blankets.
The location was good, easy to find, close to convenience shops for small items and close to bus stops. The facility fit an entire family.
