Look, I’ll be straight with you about the Pullman Brisbane King George Square – it’s one of those hotels that looks impressive from the outside but takes a minute to actually win you over. The lobby’s all marble and glass, very corporate-feeling when you first walk in, but honestly? Once you get past that initial “am I at a business conference?” vibe, there’s actually something pretty solid here.
The location is what really sells it, though they don’t always play this up enough in the photos. You’re literally at the corner of Roma and Ann Street, which means you can walk to Queen Street Mall in about three minutes (I timed it), and King George Square is right there – you know, the one with all the food trucks during lunch and the random festivals that pop up. What I really appreciated was being able to duck into the Treasury Casino when it was pouring rain, or grab proper coffee from that little place on Adelaide Street without needing an umbrella. The rooms themselves are… well, they’re fine. Professional, I guess you’d say. The beds are actually pretty comfortable – I’m picky about that – and the bathrooms have those rainfall showers that work better than expected. But here’s the thing nobody mentions: if you’re on the lower floors facing Roma Street, you’ll hear the buses. It’s not terrible, just something to know if you’re a light sleeper.
The staff seem to know what they’re doing, which isn’t always a given with these bigger hotels. Check-in was smooth, and when I had questions about getting to South Bank (you can walk, but it’s a bit of a trek), they actually gave me useful directions instead of just pointing vaguely. The hotel restaurant is decent but not remarkable – honestly, with all the great food options within walking distance, you’re better off exploring. Hit up Eagle Street Pier if you want something fancy, or just wander through the laneways and see what catches your eye. Parking’s available but it’ll cost you, which is pretty standard for Brisbane CBD. I ended up using the public transport most of the time anyway – the train station’s close enough that you can easily get to the airport or out to the Gold Coast without much fuss. Would I stay here again? Probably, yeah. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it does what it says on the tin. The 5-star rating might be a bit generous, but for a reliable base in the heart of Brisbane, especially if you’re here for business or want to be walking distance from everything, it works. Just don’t expect boutique charm – this is efficiency with a decent thread count.

Everything
Very clean, well located, easy check in and out.
The beds were very comfortable.
Convenient location
There was mould in the roof in the bathroom which I thought was unacceptable
$100 for parking is way overpriced that was really disappointing I
The Facilities and the staff were very friendly. Central location.
Location near King George Square is fine. The bar - Sixteen Antlers has a lovely view especially towards the clock tower. Goldfinch restaurant where the buffet breakfast is served is light filled and pleasant. The buffet breakfast had a good selection and they do make omelettes on request. The beds were very comfortable.
On site restaurant and rooftop pool were sensational.
Great food, service and ambience .
