The hotel itself has this sort of relaxed, residential feel that doesn’t scream “tourist trap,” which I appreciated. The rooms have this Hamptons-style thing going on (hence the name, I guess), with whites and blues and that beachy vibe that somehow works even though you’re in the middle of the city.

What really sold me on the place was the little details – like how they’ve got proper blackout curtains (essential when you’re surrounded by glass and city lights), and the kitchenette actually has decent appliances, not those tiny bar fridges that barely fit a bottle of water. The staff seemed to know the area really well too. When I asked about getting to South Bank, the guy at the front desk didn’t just say “it’s close” – he told me about the little pedestrian bridge near the casino that most people miss, which cuts about ten minutes off the walk. Check-in was smooth, though I’d avoid Friday afternoons if you can – seems like that’s when all the business travelers descend.

I’ll be honest, it’s not perfect – the elevators can be a bit slow when you’re heading up to the 77th floor, and parking in the CBD is exactly as expensive as you’d expect. But for a 4-star place with an 8.4 rating, it delivers on what matters. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given), the WiFi works properly, and you’re genuinely well-positioned to explore Brisbane without feeling like you’re stuck in some sterile hotel bubble. If you’re the type who likes to feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it, this place gets it right.
