The building itself has this sort of understated elegance – it’s not trying too hard to be boutique-y, but it’s definitely a step up from your standard hotel chain.

What really got me was how quiet it stays despite being on a main street. I was expecting traffic noise all night (Sydney Street can get pretty busy during the day), but honestly, once you’re inside, it’s surprisingly peaceful. The ferry terminal’s about a ten-minute walk, which honestly beats dealing with parking in the city. I did notice the area gets pretty lively on Friday and Saturday nights (New Farm’s got that going on), but like I said, the hotel itself stays remarkably quiet. Parking’s included, which – let’s be real – is becoming a luxury in Brisbane these days. The whole experience felt less like staying in a hotel and more like crashing at a friend’s really nice place in a neighborhood you’d actually want to live in.
