Look, I’ll be honest – when I first rolled up to Eastwood Apartments on Logan Road, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a pretty standard apartment building. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you from the street. This place actually gets it right where it counts.

The location is genuinely brilliant, and I mean that in the most practical sense. You’re right in Woolloongabba – or “Woolly” as the locals call it – which puts you a quick walk from the Gabba stadium (perfect if you’re here for cricket or footy), but more importantly, you’re close enough to South Bank to stroll over without dealing with city parking nonsense. The apartments themselves feel properly spacious, not like those cramped hotel rooms where you’re living out of a suitcase for a week. I actually had room to spread out, which… well, if you’ve stayed in Brisbane’s CBD hotels, you’ll know what a luxury that is. The kitchen setup is decent too – not just some sad mini-fridge and microwave situation, but actual cooking space if you want to grab groceries from the Coles down the road.

What really sold me though was how quiet it gets at night. Logan Road can be a bit busy during the day (it’s a main thoroughfare after all), but once evening hits, it’s surprisingly peaceful. The staff were pretty low-key and helpful without being overly chatty – they knew I just wanted to get settled in, you know? Parking was straightforward, which honestly is half the battle in Brisbane. The whole place has this lived-in feel that’s way more comfortable than those sterile hotel chains. I mean, it’s got five stars on paper, but the 7.5 rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it does what it promises really well. If you’re planning to actually explore Brisbane rather than just collapse in your room each night, this is the kind of place that works. Close enough to everything that matters, comfortable enough to feel at home, and priced like they understand you’re probably spending your money on experiences, not just accommodation.
