The apartments themselves are properly spacious – none of that cramped hotel room nonsense where you’re bumping into furniture every time you turn around. I stayed in a one-bedroom unit, and the kitchen was actually functional (revolutionary concept, right?). Full-sized fridge, decent stovetop, enough counter space to spread out if you pick up groceries from the IGA down the street. The living area flows really well, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in heaps of natural light during the day. At night, you get these lovely city views – not the river unfortunately, but the Brisbane skyline still looks pretty spectacular all lit up. The bedroom was quiet too, which surprised me given how central the location is. I mean, you’ll hear the occasional train from South Brisbane station, but it’s more of a gentle rumble than anything disruptive.
What really sold me on this place was all the little touches that show someone actually thought about how people live, not just sleep. The laundry setup in each unit is brilliant – proper washer and dryer, not those combination things that never quite work right. The building’s got a rooftop pool area that’s perfect for an evening swim, and the gym is small but well-equipped (though it gets busy around 6 PM, fair warning). Staff at reception were genuinely helpful too – they sorted out my early check-in without any drama and actually gave me useful recommendations for dinner spots in West End. The whole vibe is relaxed and professional without being stuffy. Sure, the Wi-Fi could be a bit faster, and the air conditioning takes a while to kick in, but those are minor gripes really. For the price point and location, Brisbane One Apartments delivers exactly what you’d want from a proper apartment-style stay – space to breathe, a kitchen to cook in, and a base that puts you right where you want to be in Brisbane.
