Treasury Brisbane
Treasury Brisbane
So I'll be honest – when I first walked into Treasury Brisbane, I wasn't expecting much despite the five-star rating.
So I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Treasury Brisbane, I wasn’t expecting much despite the five-star rating. I mean, it’s housed in this grand old heritage building on William Street, and you know how these conversions can go either way. But wow, they absolutely nailed it here. The moment you step through those heavy doors, there’s this perfect balance between old-world grandeur and modern luxury that actually works. The lobby has these soaring ceilings and original architectural details that make you feel like you’re somewhere important, but without that stuffy museum vibe some heritage hotels can have.
What really gets me about this place is how they’ve thought about the details that matter when you’re actually staying somewhere. The rooms – honestly, they’re spacious by Brisbane standards, which is saying something. You get these beautiful high ceilings (thanks to that heritage building), and the bathrooms are genuinely luxurious without being over the top. The beds are that perfect firmness where you sink in just enough, and the blackout curtains actually work, which is crucial because William Street can get pretty lively, especially on weekends. Speaking of location, you’re literally in the heart of everything – Queen Street Mall is a two-minute walk, and if you’re heading to South Bank, it’s an easy stroll across the Victoria Bridge. The casino’s right there too, if that’s your thing.
Here’s what I really appreciate though – the service feels genuine rather than scripted. The concierge team actually knows Brisbane, not just the tourist spots everyone recommends. They pointed me toward some fantastic local coffee places down the laneways that I never would have found otherwise. And the restaurant downstairs? It’s actually good, not just hotel-restaurant-good. The breakfast spread is solid without being overwhelming, and their dinner menu changes seasonally with proper local ingredients. Parking can be a bit pricey (welcome to Brisbane CBD), but they validate, which helps. The only minor thing I’d mention is that rooms facing William Street can pick up some traffic noise in the early morning, but honestly, that’s city living for you. With an 8.8 rating, you’re getting what you pay for here – it’s not cheap, but for a special occasion or when you want to be right in the thick of things without compromising on comfort, Treasury Brisbane delivers in a way that feels both indulgent and authentic to the city itself.

The quality, the staff, location to everything
The staff were friendly and helpful. We had two rooms and both were clean and well set out. Beds were comfortable. Very quiet and the best block out curtains. We were there for a concert to Suncorp Stadium and it was an easy walk to and from.
