Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first saw the name “Top of Spring Hill – Balcony Bliss and Poolside Escape,” I rolled my eyes a little. It sounds like someone got a bit carried away with the marketing department, you know? But actually staying here… well, it sort of lives up to the hype, even if the name makes you cringe slightly.
The thing about Spring Hill is that it’s one of those Brisbane neighborhoods that’s perfectly positioned – you’re close enough to the CBD that you can walk to the Botanic Gardens in about fifteen minutes, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the constant hum of traffic and late-night revelers. This place sits up on the hill (hence the name, obviously), and honestly, that balcony situation is pretty sweet. I mean, you can actually see glimpses of the river between the buildings, and in the morning when the light hits just right, you get why they made such a big deal about it. The pool area is decent too – nothing fancy, but it’s clean and there’s enough space that you’re not bumping elbows with other guests. I noticed they keep it well-maintained, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Spring Hill can be a bit of a mixed bag noise-wise depending on where you are, but this spot seems to catch less of the street noise – probably because of how it’s positioned on the hill. The rooms themselves are solid four-star territory, though I’d say they’re on the more relaxed side of that rating rather than trying to be all fancy and uptight. The check-in was smooth enough, parking wasn’t a nightmare (which, if you’ve driven around Brisbane lately, you know is saying something), and the staff actually seemed to know the area when I asked about getting to South Bank without dealing with the worst of the traffic. One thing I noticed – and this might matter depending on when you’re visiting – is that it gets pretty busy during school holidays since families seem to love the pool setup, but outside of those times it’s pleasantly calm. You know what really sold me though? The little details that show someone’s actually paying attention – the balcony furniture isn’t just thrown together, there’s decent water pressure in the shower, and they’ve managed to make the whole place feel comfortable without trying too hard. It’s not going to blow your mind or anything, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want from a place to stay.

What Our Guests Say
Very good Views
What could be improved: Cost
The check in instructions.
Lovely views, needs maintenance. The location is quiet. The car parking is included in the accommodation price, just be mindful the parking is narrow for a larger car. The views from the apartment were amazing. The layout is lovely and it is well decorated. Perfect for 4 people.
What could be improved: Beds are cheap Ikea, hard and unbearable to sleep on. I had to go and purchase my own very thick mattress protector to make the beds useable. Blinds in kitchen area don't work, you therefore can't have privacy and lights up the apartment from early in the morning. No drain plug for kitchen sink. No oven trays for oven usage, no towels for pool use. The apartment has an unusual smell like the drains are off. The dishwasher door is mounted to the kitchen cupboard and its too heavy, therefore every time you open a dishwasher rack to fill it, it slides out onto the floor. The apartment had some dust partly due to cleaners not cleaning but also the return for the air-conditioner is filthy. Small things like handwash missing, body wash pumps broken. We asked for assistance for the blinds but owner never contacted us. Home time group who run this property also didn't do anything except respond to the email. Although this apartment has some lovely positives, the negatives and lack of assistance makes it not a returnable stay.
