Superb 2 bedroom apartment next to the river

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to this Newstead Terrace spot – I mean, apartment hotels can be hit or miss, you know? But walking into this place actually made me do a little double-take. The space feels way more generous than most Brisbane rentals, and you’ve got these big windows that frame the river perfectly. It’s one of those views that makes you want to grab your coffee and just stand there for a minute before starting your day.

The location is what really sold me though. Newstead’s got this interesting vibe – it’s not quite the hustle of the CBD, but you’re definitely not stuck in suburbia either. You can walk down to the Gasworks Plaza in about ten minutes (great for groceries or a decent meal), and there’s this lovely riverside path that runners and cyclists use constantly. I actually found myself using it more than I expected, especially in the evenings when the light hits the water just right. The apartment sits far enough back from the main road that traffic noise isn’t really an issue, but close enough that getting an Uber or catching public transport is pretty straightforward.

What I appreciated most was how the place feels like someone actually lives there – not that sterile hotel room atmosphere. The kitchen’s properly equipped (I mean, you can actually cook a real meal), both bedrooms are a decent size, and there’s enough storage that you don’t feel like you’re living out of a suitcase. The furniture’s comfortable without being fancy, and everything works the way it should. Small thing, but the shower pressure is excellent – you’d be surprised how many places get that wrong. The building itself is well-maintained, and parking was included which honestly saves you a headache in this part of town. I stayed during a pretty busy period in Brisbane and never felt like I was competing with other guests for space or dealing with noise issues. For the price point and that river access, it’s actually quite solid value – especially if you’re planning to stay more than a couple nights and want to feel settled rather than just passing through.
