Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Summit Apartments on Leichhardt Street, I wasn’t expecting much. The name had me thinking basic serviced apartments, maybe a step up from a motel. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked right in Spring Hill, which honestly is one of those Brisbane neighborhoods that locals love but tourists often overlook – you’re literally a ten-minute walk downhill to the CBD, but without all the noise and chaos that comes with staying right in the thick of things.

The building itself has this modern, clean-lined look that doesn’t scream “budget accommodation,” and once you’re inside, it feels more like a proper apartment than a hotel room. I mean, the kitchenette actually has everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the Woolworths down on Boundary Street instead of eating out every meal. The staff at check-in were refreshingly normal – no overly scripted welcome speech, just efficient and friendly people who seemed to actually know the area when I asked about parking (there’s underground parking, thank god, because street parking in Spring Hill can be a nightmare during the week).

What really sold me on this place was the location itself. You’re right there where Spring Hill starts to get interesting – close enough to walk to Fortitude Valley if you’re feeling energetic, but also perfectly positioned to explore some of Brisbane’s quieter side streets. The Aboriginal Art Gallery is practically around the corner, and if you head down toward the river, you’ll hit the Botanic Gardens without dealing with the tourist crowds near South Bank. I stayed here during a particularly busy conference week, and while the city center was absolute chaos, Spring Hill felt like this calm pocket where you could actually decompress. The rooms are well-insulated too – I barely heard traffic noise, which is saying something considering you’re still pretty central. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the elevators can be a bit slow during peak times, but honestly, that’s such a small complaint when everything else works so well. For a 4-star rating, it delivers exactly what you’d expect without any unpleasant surprises.
