The street itself is pretty quiet considering how close you are to everything – I could hear the occasional traffic from the main roads, but nothing that kept me awake.

The whole area has this interesting mix going on. You’ve got the cultural precinct with QPAC and the museum just across the river, but you’re also walking distance from West End’s restaurant scene. I found myself wandering over to the markets on Saturday morning, then grabbing dinner in the evening without needing to think about transport. The CityCat stop is maybe a seven-minute walk if you want to do the scenic route along the river into the city – honestly one of the prettier commutes you’ll find.

I’ll be real with you – the decor isn’t going to win any design awards, but everything feels clean and well-maintained. The kitchen has proper appliances (not those tiny bar fridges that fit nothing), and there’s enough counter space to actually cook if you want to save money on eating out.
