The name made me expect some massive resort complex, but it’s actually this perfectly sized place tucked away on Wynnum Road that feels more like a well-kept secret than a tourist magnet. I mean, you’re technically in Brisbane, but you’re far enough out from the CBD chaos that you can actually think straight – and honestly, that’s worth its weight in gold when you’re trying to decompress.

The thing about this stretch of Wynnum Road is that it’s got this weird sweet spot thing going on. You’ve got the Gateway Motorway close enough that getting to the airport or heading up to the Sunshine Coast doesn’t turn into a whole production, but you’re also just a quick hop from the bayside suburbs if you want to grab fish and chips at Wynnum or take a proper walk along the water. The hotel itself sits in this pocket where residential meets commercial, so there’s actual life happening around you – corner shops, local cafes, the kind of places where people live rather than just pass through. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward (no twenty-minute spiel about amenities I’ll never use), and the parking situation is actually sorted, which… well, anyone who’s tried to park in Brisbane knows that’s not always a given.

What really sells this place, though, is how it manages to feel both polished and unpretentious at the same time. The rooms are genuinely comfortable – not showroom perfect, but the kind of comfortable where you’d actually want to spend a rainy afternoon reading or catching up on work. The beds are solid, the air con works without sounding like a jet engine, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without playing furniture Tetris. I stayed during one of those sweltering February weeks, and the place stayed cool and quiet even with the Queensland heat doing its worst outside. You can tell they’ve put thought into the details that matter – decent water pressure, blackout curtains that actually block light, WiFi that doesn’t drop out every ten minutes. It’s the kind of place where business travelers and families both seem to fit in naturally, which is harder to pull off than it sounds.
