The wide verandas and high ceilings do exactly what they’re supposed to do in Brisbane’s climate – keep things breezy and comfortable even when it’s stinking hot outside.

The five bedrooms are genuinely spacious (not those shoebox situations you sometimes get), and I mean, having that much room makes a real difference when you’re traveling with a group or family. The kitchen’s well-equipped too – I actually cooked a few meals there and had everything I needed, which is rarer than you’d think in holiday rentals. What really won me over though was the location. See, Coorparoo’s one of those suburbs that locals love but tourists often miss. You’re close enough to the CBD that you can duck into the city whenever you want – it really is about six kilometers, maybe a quick bus ride down Old Cleveland Road or a $15 Uber – but you’re living in an actual neighborhood with proper cafes and that excellent Saturday morning farmers market at the school.

The street itself is pretty quiet, which surprised me given how close everything is. I mean, you’ll hear the occasional bus on Old Cleveland Road, but nothing that kept me awake. Parking’s straightforward too – there’s space for a couple of cars, which honestly saved me a fortune compared to city hotel parking fees. The owners clearly know what they’re doing; check-in was smooth, the place was spotless, and they’d left those little touches that show they actually care – decent coffee, proper towels, reliable WiFi that doesn’t drop out every five minutes. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to explore more of Brisbane’s southside or needed easy access to Griffith University. It’s the kind of place where you can spread out, cook breakfast on the veranda, and still be at South Bank in twenty minutes if you want to do the tourist thing.
