Quest River Park Central
Quest River Park Central
You know what struck me first about Quest River Park Central?
You know what struck me first about Quest River Park Central? It’s actually in one of those perfect Brisbane spots where you feel like you’re right in the thick of things without the chaos. Being on Mary Street means you’re literally a two-minute walk from the Queen Street Mall – and I mean the good end, not the touristy bit that gets overwhelming on weekends. The building itself has this modern apartment vibe rather than that sterile hotel feel, which honestly makes sense since it’s basically extended-stay suites done right.
The rooms are surprisingly spacious for Brisbane CBD standards, and here’s the thing that’ll matter if you’re staying more than a night or two – they’ve got proper kitchenettes with full-sized fridges. Not those tiny bar fridges that barely fit a bottle of wine, but actual refrigerators where you can store groceries from the Woolworths down on Adelaide Street. The layout feels more like a really nice serviced apartment than a hotel room, which is perfect if you’re doing that whole “living like a local” thing. I appreciated the washing machine in the room too – sounds boring, but try finding a laundromat in the CBD when you need one. The beds are comfortable enough, though the pillows run a bit soft if you’re someone who needs firm support.
Location-wise, you’re about a five-minute walk to the river and South Bank, which means easy access to all those weekend markets and the ferry terminals. What I really liked was being close enough to the Treasury Casino and Queen’s Wharf area to walk there for dinner, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the late-night crowd noise. The Eagle Street Pier restaurants are basically around the corner, and if you’re into that morning coffee ritual, there’s a decent café scene within a block or two – though honestly, you might want to venture toward the Roma Street end for the really good stuff. Parking can be tricky around here (welcome to Brisbane CBD), but they do have arrangements with nearby garages, and the staff actually knows which ones offer better rates for longer stays. The whole area gets pretty quiet after business hours, which is either perfect for sleeping or a bit too sleepy depending on what you’re after. For a 4.5-star place, it delivers on the practical stuff without trying too hard to be fancy, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to get a feel for actually living in Brisbane rather than just passing through.
