I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to 57 Sparkes Street, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. Chermside’s one of those Brisbane suburbs that’s sort of caught between residential and commercial, you know? But step inside this apartment and wow, they really weren’t kidding about the “brand new” part. Everything still has that fresh paint smell (in a good way), and the floors are so pristine I actually felt bad about my sneakers.
The three bedrooms are genuinely spacious – not those shoebox situations you sometimes get where they call it a bedroom but you can barely fit a suitcase. The master has this huge window that catches the morning light perfectly, and honestly, the whole place feels more like a friend’s apartment than a hotel. The kitchen’s what really got me though – proper full-size appliances, stone countertops, and enough space to actually cook if you’re staying longer than a few days. There’s even a dishwasher, which might sound silly to mention, but you’d be surprised how many places skip that detail. The living area opens up nicely too, with one of those big sectional couches that’s actually comfortable (tested it extensively while watching Netflix).
What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night. Sparkes Street isn’t a main thoroughfare, so you’re not dealing with traffic noise, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. Westfield Chermside is literally a five-minute drive – and I mean actually five minutes, not hotel-brochure five minutes. The train station’s walkable too, which is clutch if you’re planning to explore the city without dealing with Brisbane’s parking situation. Speaking of parking, there’s a dedicated spot that comes with the apartment, which honestly saves you a headache and probably thirty bucks a day. The whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward lobby hovering while they “prepare your room.” You get your codes, you walk in, you’re home. That 9.7 rating starts to make sense when you realize it’s these little things that add up to actually enjoying your stay instead of just tolerating it.

The apartment was spacious. Good size bedrooms
The property was lovely, clean and in an excellent location. Very central to everything we needed during our stay. All communications with the property owner were clear and directions provided for entry and check in were spot on. No mucking around and a very seamless experience.

Apartment was in great central position clean and tidy with the required kitchen appliances crockery and cutlery. The only downside the couch was way too soft and low and only seated 3 a couple of occasional seats added would be perfect.
