It’s pretty straightforward, actually sort of blends into the neighborhood, but that’s exactly what ended up being perfect about it.

The apartment itself is what you’d call properly functional – and I don’t mean that in a boring way. The bedroom’s got decent space (you’re not bumping into walls when you get up to use the bathroom at 2am), and honestly, the kitchen setup is way better than most hotel kitchenettes I’ve dealt with. You know what I really appreciated? The windows actually open, which sounds stupid to mention but you’d be surprised how many places seal you in with recycled air. Plus, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every time someone in the next unit starts streaming Netflix.

But here’s where it gets good – the location is genuinely useful, not just “convenient” in that meaningless way hotels always claim. You’re basically a quick walk from the train station, which means you can actually get around Brisbane without constantly calling Ubers or figuring out bus routes. There’s a Woolworths pretty close by (I think it’s maybe a five-minute walk?), and honestly, being able to grab groceries and cook a bit saved me a fortune over the week I was there. The area gets a bit quiet at night, but not in a sketchy way – more like a residential quiet where you can actually sleep without earplugs.

I stayed there during winter, which in Brisbane means it’s actually pleasant instead of feeling like you’re living inside someone’s mouth, and the heating worked fine. The shower pressure was decent too, though the hot water took a minute to kick in – just run it while you’re getting undressed and you’re fine. Oh, and parking was way easier than I expected, which if you’ve ever tried to park anywhere near the CBD, you’ll know that’s basically a miracle.
