So I stayed at this Aurora apartment on Queen Street last month, and honestly, it surprised me in the best way. You know how apartment hotels can be hit or miss? This one actually gets it right. The building itself is pretty sleek – I mean, it’s right in the thick of Brisbane’s CBD, literally steps from Queen Street Mall, which is both amazing and… well, you’ll hear the occasional drunk group walking by on Friday nights. But that’s city living for you.

What really impressed me was how they’ve set up these four-bedroom places. It’s not just hotel rooms stuck together – there’s an actual living area where you can spread out, and the kitchen is properly equipped (I’m talking real plates, not those plastic hotel things). The bedrooms are generous too, which is rare in the city center. I was traveling with my family, and honestly, having separate spaces made such a difference. The kids could watch their Netflix while we had a proper conversation over wine – you know what I mean? Plus, the views from the upper floors are pretty spectacular. You get this great perspective of the city that makes you realize how compact Brisbane’s CBD actually is.

The location is what really seals the deal though. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Central Station – and I mean literally, not travel-brochure literally. I timed it because I’m that kind of person. The botanical gardens are just across the river if you want to escape the concrete, and there’s this little laneway behind the building where locals grab coffee that most tourists never find. Parking was actually manageable too, which anyone who’s driven in Brisbane CBD will tell you is basically a miracle. The building’s got secure parking, though you’ll pay for it – but honestly, it’s worth it versus circling the block for twenty minutes. Check-in was smooth, no weird key-card dramas, and the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood when I asked about restaurants. The whole experience felt less like staying in a hotel and more like borrowing a friend’s really nice city apartment – if your friend had better taste in furniture than you do.
