Oxlade Luxury Riverfront Apartments

So I’ve stayed at Oxlade Luxury Riverfront Apartments in New Farm a few times now, and honestly, it’s become my go-to when I need to feel like I’m on vacation without actually leaving Brisbane. The thing that hits you first isn’t the lobby or anything fancy like that – it’s walking out onto your balcony and realizing you’re basically floating above the Brisbane River. I mean, you can watch the CityCats puttering by while you’re having your morning coffee, which is oddly therapeutic.

New Farm is one of those neighborhoods that locals love but tourists sometimes miss, and that works in your favor here. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the weekend markets at the Powerhouse – and I’m talking about the kind of markets where you can actually find decent coffee and pastries, not tourist trap stuff. James Street is right there too, so you’ve got proper restaurants and shops within walking distance. The apartments themselves are actually spacious, which is saying something for Brisbane accommodation. The kitchens are legit functional (I’ve cooked full meals in there), and the washing machine situation is clutch if you’re staying more than a couple nights. What really sold me though was the parking – you get your own spot, which anyone who’s tried to park in New Farm on a Saturday will appreciate.

The only thing I’d mention is that river views come with river sounds, so if you’re super sensitive to noise, just know you’ll hear the occasional boat or late-night revelers walking along the riverwalk. But honestly, I find it kind of soothing after a while. The staff knows their stuff too – they’ll actually give you useful local tips instead of just handing you a generic tourist map. Last time I was there, the guy at reception told me about this little bar tucked away on Annie Street that I never would’ve found otherwise. The whole setup just feels more like borrowing a friend’s really nice apartment than staying in a hotel, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to actually relax somewhere.
