Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Airport International Motel Brisbane on Kingsford Smith Drive, I wasn’t expecting much. The name screams “budget stopover,” and let’s face it, most airport motels are pretty forgettable. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The Hamilton location means you’re literally five minutes from the domestic terminal (seriously, I timed it), but here’s the thing nobody tells you – you’re also right along the Brisbane River with this surprisingly decent view if you snag the right room. The staff at check-in were genuinely friendly too, not that rushed vibe you get at most airport places. I mean, the guy behind the desk actually gave me proper directions to the city instead of just pointing vaguely toward the highway.
What really won me over was how practical everything felt without being sterile. The rooms are clean and well-maintained – not fancy, but you know what? The beds are actually comfortable, the air conditioning works properly (crucial in Brisbane summers), and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes like some places I could mention. The parking situation is refreshingly straightforward too – no hunting around for spaces or paying extra fees, just pull up and you’re sorted. I stayed here during a weekday and it was pretty quiet, though I imagine it gets busier on weekends when people are catching early flights. The little details matter here – decent water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that actually block light, and rooms that face away from Kingsford Smith Drive so you’re not dealing with traffic noise all night.
Here’s why this place works better than you’d expect: it’s positioned perfectly if you need airport access but don’t want to feel completely disconnected from Brisbane. You can walk down to the Hamilton boardwalk in about ten minutes, grab coffee at one of the local spots, or even catch a CityCat into the city center if you’ve got time to kill. The breakfast isn’t anything spectacular, but it gets the job done and the coffee’s decent enough. Honestly, for a 4-star rating and that 7.8 score, it delivers exactly what it promises – reliable, comfortable accommodation without the airport hotel premium pricing. I’ve stayed at supposedly fancier places in Brisbane that left me more frustrated than this straightforward spot did. It’s not going to wow you with luxury amenities, but if you need somewhere dependable near the airport that doesn’t feel like you’re sleeping in a transit lounge, this hits the sweet spot.

What Our Guests Say
Nice and big room. They provided even a moisturizing cream and conditioner which are not an obvious with that price. Free laundry was really nice bonus and they had many different adapters to plug as well. Close to Eat Street and easy access to city and to airport. Motel is located in a really nice neighborhood. Highly recommend!
Free parking, Easy access to the motel and car parks, nice bed, able to stream to the tv from our devices. The location suited us for access to the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal the next day. Excellent food choices in walking distance.
Very well appointed room
The location and room were very good and the reception very pleasant.
I was very happy with the unit
Close to the airport, room comfortable. Staff friendly.
Great location for early international flight. Good sized room with clean comfortable bed.
Location, and ease to get to the International Cruise Centre
The location was perfect. A short walk to Portside Wharf which had a delicious bakery called "Rise", and probably the best IGA I've ever been in. We walked to "Eat Street Northshore" (open on weekends) for dinner and experienced some of the most amazing dishes from all cultures. The accommodation itself was everything we could have needed for a one-night stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
