Oxford Steps – Executive 2BR Bulimba Apartment Across from the Park on Oxford St
You know what struck me first about Oxford Steps?
You know what struck me first about Oxford Steps? The name actually makes sense – you’re literally looking across at Bulimba Memorial Park from your living room window, and there’s something oddly satisfying about that. I mean, most apartment names are just random words thrown together, but this one gets it right. The building sits right on Oxford Street, and honestly, that’s both the best and most challenging thing about staying here.
The apartment itself is proper executive style – I’m talking about a two-bedroom setup that doesn’t feel cramped or like someone just shoved furniture into boxes. The kitchen actually has counter space (shocking, I know), and the living area flows naturally instead of that awkward hotel-room-trying-to-be-an-apartment vibe you get sometimes. What really got me was the attention to detail – decent coffee machine, washing machine that doesn’t sound like it’s dying, and those little touches that make you think someone actually lives in places like this. The bedrooms are generous too, with the master having enough space that you’re not climbing over suitcases to get to the bathroom. Though I’ll be honest, the street noise is noticeable if you’re a light sleeper – Oxford Street gets its fair share of traffic, especially during morning and evening rush.
Here’s what locals won’t tell you but should: Bulimba is having a bit of a moment right now. You’ve got the CityCat terminal just a short walk down Oxford Street, which honestly beats dealing with Brisbane traffic if you’re heading into the city. The park across the street isn’t just nice to look at – it’s actually where half the neighborhood walks their dogs in the morning, so there’s this lovely community feel if you’re up early enough. And speaking of early, the weekend farmers market at the Bulimba Memorial Park is genuinely worth getting up for. The whole area has this relaxed, almost village-y atmosphere that’s rare to find this close to Brisbane’s center. What surprised me most was how quiet it gets in the evenings – you’d expect more noise being right on a main street, but Bulimba sort of settles into itself after dinner time. The apartment building itself is well-maintained without being sterile, and parking was straightforward (which, let’s be real, is half the battle in Brisbane). If you’re looking for that sweet spot between being close enough to everything but far enough away to actually relax, this place nails it. Just pack earplugs if you’re sensitive to street sounds, and maybe avoid the weekend nights if you’re not into the occasional late-night reveler walking by.

What Our Guests Say
We loved the place. It was comfortable, easy access to the public transportation and easy to find groceries etc.
Great location nice and close to everything
Very nice unit on the top floor, the stairs were a bit of an issue when carrying a large suitcase and groceries. The unit is comfortable and clean. The complex is quiet and lovely having it directly opposite a park. Great location, lots of shops and restaurants, you really don't need to go anywhere else if you don't need to.
Property provides WIFI and Foxtel (you get most of the channels) which is a bonus. Air-conditioning could be cooler, not sure what the issue was but it just didn't cool down the unit enough for my liking.
I would definitely recommend the property to others and would stay again.
Easy smooth checkin, walking distance to woollies and park area
It is a fantastic property located in the heart of Oxford Street. The apartment had all the amenities. Woolworths next door, restaurants along the street, basement parking. Clean flat and absolutely brilliant in all aspects
