The suites here are actually suites, not just hotel rooms with a fancy name slapped on them. I’m talking full kitchens with decent-sized fridges (you can actually fit a week’s worth of groceries in there), separate living areas where you can spread out your laptop without sitting on the bed, and – this was a nice surprise – really good water pressure in the showers. The whole place has this sort of residential vibe, which makes sense because it feels more like a well-managed apartment complex than a traditional hotel. The staff at reception were genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. They actually knew the area and could tell you which cafes opened early and where to find parking that won’t cost you a fortune.

Location-wise, you’re in an interesting spot. Bowen Hills gets overlooked by a lot of visitors, but it’s actually pretty smart if you don’t need to be right in the thick of things. The RNA Showgrounds are literally across the street – great if you’re here for an event, potentially noisy if you’re not (though I didn’t have any issues with sound). What I really liked was how connected you are without the CBD chaos. The train station is maybe a seven-minute walk, and you can be in the city center in under ten minutes. Plus, you’ve got some genuinely good eating options nearby that locals actually go to – there’s this Vietnamese place about three blocks down that I ended up hitting twice during my stay. The neighborhood has that lived-in Brisbane feel, tree-lined streets and all, which I found more relaxing than staying somewhere with constant foot traffic. Is it perfect? Well, it’s a solid 4-star place with a 7.5 rating, so you know what you’re getting – comfortable and reliable without being flashy. If you’re looking for rooftop pools and marble everything, this isn’t your spot. But if you want space to actually live a bit while you’re in Brisbane, with easy access to everything without paying premium prices, the Mews Suites delivers on that promise.
