The Landing 23 sits right there at Queens Wharf, but somehow the building’s positioned so you get these incredible river views without the constant hum of Eagle Street’s chaos. I stayed here for a long weekend in March, and honestly, waking up to that Southbank panorama never got old.

The apartment itself is one of those rare finds where the photos don’t oversell it. Two proper bedrooms – not one bedroom plus a “study nook” like so many Brisbane places try to pass off. The kitchen’s got everything you’d actually use (decent coffee machine, thank god), and the living area’s spacious enough that you’re not tripping over each other if you’re traveling with friends or family. What really sold me was the balcony situation – it’s not just some tiny ledge, but an actual outdoor space where you can have your morning coffee while watching the CityCats cruise by. The building’s modern enough that the air conditioning actually works properly, which, let’s be honest, is crucial for Brisbane summers.

Location-wise, you’re basically in the sweet spot between the city’s business district and all the good stuff happening around South Bank. Walking to Treasury Casino takes maybe three minutes if you’re feeling lucky, and you’re close enough to the botanical gardens that an evening stroll actually makes sense rather than being a whole expedition. The Eagle Street Pier restaurants are right there too – though I’d skip the touristy ones and head to Customs House or even just grab something from the markets at South Bank instead. Parking’s sorted with the building (huge relief because street parking around there is basically impossible), and the apartment’s high enough up that you don’t get the foot traffic noise from the boardwalk. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward key-handoff-in-a-coffee-shop thing some Brisbane Airbnbs do. The whole setup just feels more… grown-up, I guess? Like someone actually thought about what travelers need rather than just throwing together whatever furniture was on sale at Freedom.
