La Pague – Near CBD – Parking – 2 Bedroom Retreat

You know what struck me first about La Pague?

You know what struck me first about La Pague? The name – it’s this quirky little nod that somehow fits perfectly with Windsor’s eclectic vibe. I mean, you’re literally just a stone’s throw from the CBD here on Blackmore Street, but it feels like you’ve discovered this hidden residential pocket that most tourists completely miss. The two-bedroom setup is honestly perfect if you’re traveling with family or friends and want actual space to spread out – none of that cramped hotel room nonsense where you’re tripping over each other’s luggage.

The parking situation alone makes this place worth considering (and I say this as someone who’s circled Brisbane blocks for an hour looking for a spot). Having your own dedicated space when you’re this close to the city center is like finding gold, honestly. The neighborhood itself has this interesting mix going on – you’ve got these classic Queenslander houses mixed with newer developments, and there’s always something happening at the local cafes along Lutwyche Road. I actually discovered this amazing Vietnamese bakery just a few blocks away that locals seem to know about but rarely makes it into guidebooks.

What I really appreciated was how the place manages to feel like an actual retreat without being stuffy about it. The 3-star rating doesn’t tell the whole story – sure, it’s not dripping with luxury amenities, but everything works properly and the space feels lived-in rather than sterile. The 7.3 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the location; it’s one of those places where the minor quirks (maybe the shower pressure isn’t amazing, or the kitchen could use a few more cooking basics) get balanced out by the fact that you can walk to Breakfast Creek or catch the train into the city without the hassle of staying right in the thick of things. Brisbane’s weather means you’ll want that extra bedroom for when it gets humid and everyone needs their own space to decompress. Plus, there’s something satisfying about having a proper kitchen when you want to grab fresh produce from the weekend markets and actually cook instead of eating out every meal.

Very good, highly recommended. Very clean. The property manager was very responsive, prompt and efficient. The property is very conveniently located to the railway station.

What could be improved: The unit was a little too close to the highway.

Definitely not a resort as advertised!!! it’s a basic old unit that has been painted to hide many flaws. Very central, the bed was very comfortable

What could be improved: The host difficult to contact, extremely noisy traffic from Albion Rd, dish cloths from previous customers left to be use,bad ammonia smell in the shower, no hard copy manual for amenities, bad to presume that everyone is tech savvy, especially, I think was an air purifier the water had to be continuously emptied, no heating it is a very damp cold unit for a winter stay

Pleasant Good location in that it is near everything I needed

What could be improved: Road noise and slightly run down feel.
