The bathrooms are decent sized too, which is refreshing because so many city hotels seem to think we all want to shower in a phone booth. I stayed there during a particularly muggy February, and the whole place just felt… comfortable, I guess. Not trying to impress you with marble everything, but solid and reliable.

Here’s the thing about Spring Hill that a lot of visitors don’t realize – you’re actually in this sweet spot where you can walk down to Fortitude Valley for dinner (yeah, it’s a bit of a walk, but totally doable), and you’re close enough to the city that you’re not spending half your day on transport. There’s this little cluster of cafes and restaurants within a few blocks that locals actually use, not just tourist traps. The hotel staff seemed to know the area well too – I asked about a decent coffee spot that wasn’t Starbucks, and they pointed me toward this place on Leichhardt Street that honestly made better flat whites than most of the fancy spots in the CBD. Check-in was smooth, no drama about early arrival, and they actually had maps with handwritten notes about nearby spots. It’s those little touches that make you feel like you’re not just another booking number, you know? Rating sits at about 7.9, which feels fair – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s going to do exactly what you need it to do, and probably a bit more.
