Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to the ibis Brisbane Airport on Dryandra Road, I wasn’t expecting much. It’s one of those solid three-star chains that does exactly what it says on the tin, but this one actually surprised me in a good way. The building itself is pretty standard ibis fare – that familiar red and white branding you see everywhere – but there’s something refreshingly no-nonsense about the whole setup that I genuinely appreciate.
What really gets me is how they’ve nailed the airport hotel thing without falling into the usual traps. You know how most airport places either sound like you’re sleeping inside a jet engine or they’re so far out you might as well have stayed in the city? This place sits in that sweet spot where you can actually get some decent sleep (the rooms are surprisingly quiet for being so close to the runway), but you’re not dealing with some epic journey to catch your morning flight. I mean, we’re talking about a location that’s close enough to walk to the domestic terminal if you’re not hauling massive luggage, though honestly, the shuttle service they run is pretty reliable too.
The rooms themselves are classic ibis – compact but cleverly designed, with that distinctive purple accent wall that somehow works better than it should. The beds are actually really comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff), and they’ve got decent air conditioning, which matters more than you’d think in Brisbane’s humidity. One thing I noticed that sets this apart from other airport hotels I’ve stayed at – the bathrooms are surprisingly spacious, and the shower pressure is excellent. Small details, maybe, but when you’re dealing with early morning flights or late arrivals, these things matter. The staff genuinely seem to get that people staying here are often stressed about travel timing, so check-in is always smooth and they’re pretty good about storing luggage if you need to kill time before flights. Parking is straightforward too, which – let’s be real – is half the battle at any airport hotel. With an 8.3 rating, it’s clearly hitting the mark for most travelers, and I can see why. It’s not trying to be fancy, but it does everything you actually need really well.

What Our Guests Say
Great overnight stay preflight. Very quiet. No noise from outside makes it an excellent option for an airport stay. Very clean and comfortable. On-site restaurant very efficient, good choice and tasty food.
What could be improved: Somewhere to hang handtowel in bathroom. Perhaps a shelf in bathroom for toilet bag, etc.
Comfortable layover hotel Location of the hotel is very convenient for an overnight layover. Room was small but clean. Adequate for a few hours of sleep between flights.
What could be improved: The restaurant is more of a canteen than a restaurant and was very overcrowded but that said the food was good.
Easy and convenient to get to and from the airport. Close to the airport.
What could be improved: Would be nice if they offered baggage assistance.
Perfect when transferring between flights Great location, comfortable, helpful staff
What could be improved: Only australian plugs, no usb to charge
Great location, staff, facilities, value Everything
What could be improved: Nothing
Enjoyed the convenience, train to Brisbane and hotel restaurant. Airport Ibis was very handy for a two night stopover between flights. It enabled us to have a day in Brisbane before boarding flight to Roma to start a tour.
What could be improved: Nothing.
Very good Location, Cleanliness, staff, excellent service
What could be improved: When they made me a toasted cheese, they took a remade ham and cheese, removed the ham, and the toasted cheese had 1 processed slice in it, compared to the day before when my sandwich was fully loaded with cheese.
Great rest before flying OS It was where we needed to be
What could be improved: Nothing to complain about at all
Superb Walking distance from airport
Great short stay before flight Perfect position before a flight out either international or domestic.
Great views over the airport.
What could be improved: The dining room / restaurant felt a bit crowded, but there is a great option to sit outside.
