FV Valley House Apartments
You know what struck me first about FV Valley House Apartments?
You know what struck me first about FV Valley House Apartments? It’s actually in the heart of Fortitude Valley, but somehow manages to feel like you’re staying somewhere with a bit of breathing room. I mean, the Valley can get pretty intense—especially on weekends when Brunswick Street turns into this massive party zone—but these apartments are tucked away just enough that you’re not dealing with the full chaos while still being right in the thick of everything.
The building itself is one of those modern apartment-style setups that’s become pretty popular in Brisbane lately, and honestly, it works really well for this area. You’ve got proper apartment amenities (full kitchen, decent-sized living areas, that sort of thing) which is brilliant if you’re staying for more than just a quick overnight. I actually appreciated having space to spread out after spending days wandering around the city—there’s something nice about being able to make your own coffee in the morning instead of immediately hunting for a café, though trust me, there are plenty of good ones within a two-minute walk. The whole setup feels more like you’re borrowing a friend’s place than staying in a typical hotel, which some people absolutely love and others might find a bit too low-key.
What really makes this place work is the location knowledge you develop after a day or two. You’re literally walking distance from James Street (which has turned into this fantastic dining and shopping strip), and getting to the CBD is dead easy—just hop on the train at Fortitude Valley station or catch one of the frequent buses. The area can get a bit lively on Friday and Saturday nights, but it’s not right on top of the main club strip, so you’re not dealing with drunk people yelling at 3 AM. During the week, it’s actually quite peaceful, and you get this nice urban village feel, especially around the Gasworks precinct side of things. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving—Brisbane’s inner suburbs aren’t exactly generous with street parking—but the building sorts that out. The staff seem to actually know the area well, which is refreshing; they can point you toward the good Vietnamese places on Brunswick Street or tell you which way to walk to avoid the construction mess that seems to permanently exist somewhere in the Valley. With a 9.2 rating, they’re clearly doing something right, and after staying there, it makes sense—it’s that sweet spot of being properly located without the premium price tag of staying right in the CBD.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 10 STARS Everything was above & beyond, the skyline pool is amazing, very very clean, neat, new appliances.
The bed & sheets were TOP quality
What could be improved: I couldn't get into the spa with my key tag or rent spa function room out, that was my only disappointment
