Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane
Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane
You know what struck me first about the Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane?
You know what struck me first about the Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane? It’s got this surprisingly calm vibe despite being right in the thick of things on Mary Street. I mean, you’re literally steps away from Queen Street Mall and all that chaos, but somehow when you walk into the lobby, there’s this immediate sense of – well, I guess you’d call it urban sanctuary. The staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which honestly doesn’t happen at most chain hotels.
The rooms are what I’d call “smartly designed” rather than flashy. Nothing over-the-top, but everything works exactly like it should. The beds are properly comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), the shower has decent water pressure, and – this might sound weird – but the curtains actually block out light completely, which is huge if you’re dealing with jet lag. The air conditioning runs quietly too, something you don’t appreciate until you’ve stayed somewhere with a unit that sounds like a freight train. What really won me over though was the view situation. If you get a room facing west, you can watch the Brisbane River doing its thing, and at sunset the light hits the water just right. The eastward rooms look out over the city sprawl, which has its own appeal if you’re into that urban landscape thing.
Location-wise, this place is actually perfect for people who want to be central without being overwhelmed. You can walk to South Bank in about fifteen minutes – I’ve done it plenty of times, especially when the weather’s decent. The Eagle Street Pier is practically around the corner, and if you’re meeting someone for drinks, you’re already halfway there. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare during weekdays (welcome to Brisbane CBD), but the hotel’s valet service knows all the tricks, and honestly, you don’t really need a car from here anyway. The Queen Street Mall buskers start up around 10 AM, and you can hear them faintly from the lower floors, but it’s more charming background noise than annoying. What surprised me most was how the hotel manages to feel both professional – like, you could definitely bring clients here – and relaxed enough that you’re not constantly worried about spilling coffee on something expensive. The 8.1 rating makes sense to me because while it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Brisbane, it absolutely nails the fundamentals and then adds just enough personality to make you want to come back.

Great location and really easy to find! Pool facilities were in the next door hotel and it was amazing, definitely more adult friendly on the weekends with a DJ and swim-up bar. Was definitely a vibe!
