Look, I'll be honest - the name "CT&Mountain View on High level Riverfont Carpark" is a bit of a mouthful, but don't let that put you off because this place is actually pretty solid.
Look, I’ll be honest – the name “CT&Mountain View on High level Riverfont Carpark” is a bit of a mouthful, but don’t let that put you off because this place is actually pretty solid. It’s tucked into the Quest On North Quay building on the CBD side of the river, and you know what? That location is absolutely killer. I mean, you’re literally steps from the Brisbane River, and if you snag one of the higher floors, you’ll get those views that make you remember why you love this city.
The thing about staying right on North Quay is that you’re in this sweet spot where you feel like you’re in the thick of things without being completely overwhelmed by the George Street madness. You can walk to Queen Street Mall in about ten minutes (honestly, maybe less if you’re not stopping to gawk at the river), and Eagle Street Pier is right there if you want decent food with a view. The parking situation – well, it’s Brisbane CBD, so it’s never going to be cheap, but at least you’re not circling blocks looking for a spot. There’s something to be said for that peace of mind, especially if you’re driving in from the Gold Coast or somewhere.
What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to make a 4-star place feel genuinely comfortable rather than trying too hard to be fancy. The rooms are clean and well-appointed – nothing revolutionary, but everything works properly, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed. The beds are actually decent (I’m picky about this stuff), and the bathrooms have that rainfall shower head that doesn’t just dribble water everywhere. You’ll hear some street noise – it’s the city center, after all – but it’s not the kind of thing that’ll keep you up unless you’re someone who needs absolute silence. The aircon works properly too, which in Brisbane summers is honestly non-negotiable.
The building itself has that modern apartment vibe rather than traditional hotel stuffiness, which I actually prefer. There’s no massive lobby scene or anything like that, but the check-in process is straightforward and the staff seem to know what they’re doing. I particularly appreciated that they don’t act like they’re doing you a favor by letting you stay there – refreshing, really. The whole setup feels more like borrowing a friend’s really nice apartment than staying in a corporate hotel, if that makes sense.
Here’s the thing though – this isn’t the place if you want a resort experience or tons of on-site amenities. What you’re paying for is the location and a solid, comfortable room. And honestly, when you’re this close to everything Brisbane has to offer, why would you want to hang around the hotel anyway? You’re a five-minute walk from the Botanical Gardens, the ferry terminals are right there for getting across to South Bank, and you’ve got some genuinely good coffee spots within stumbling distance. For the price point and that 8-rating it’s earned, I’d definitely stay here again – especially if I was in town for business or just wanted a proper base for exploring the city without the tourist trap markup.
