So I spent a few nights at these city view rooms on Queen Street, and honestly? It’s one of those places that grows on you. The setup is basically what it sounds like – you’re getting a private room in a shared apartment situation, which I was a bit hesitant about at first. But you know what, it actually works pretty well, especially if you’re the type who doesn’t mind bumping into other travelers in the kitchen or common areas.
The location is really where this place shines. Queen Street puts you right in the thick of things – I mean, you’re literally walking distance from the Queen Street Mall, and there’s this constant hum of city life that I found oddly comforting. The apartment building itself is nothing fancy (it’s got that typical Brisbane CBD vibe, sort of functional but lived-in), but the rooms have these decent city views that make you feel properly connected to what’s happening below. I’d wake up to the sound of buses and early commuters, which sounds annoying but was actually kind of nice – like the city was gently nudging me awake instead of jarring me with an alarm. The shared kitchen situation worked out better than expected too. There’s usually coffee stuff available, and I ended up having some great conversations with other guests over breakfast. One morning this German backpacker showed me this shortcut to South Bank through the botanical gardens that I never would have found otherwise.
Now, let’s be real about what you’re getting here – it’s a solid 3-star experience, nothing more, nothing less. The Wi-Fi is decent, the bed was comfortable enough (though the walls are a bit thin, so you might hear your apartment-mates moving around), and housekeeping does their job without being overly fussy about it. I appreciated that check-in was pretty straightforward, though parking can be a bit of a hunt in this area – there’s street parking if you’re lucky, but I’d budget for a nearby garage if you’re driving. The whole vibe is relaxed and unpretentious, which honestly felt refreshing after staying in some overly polished hotels. It’s the kind of place where you can leave your stuff and explore without worrying too much, come back whenever, and actually feel like you’re experiencing Brisbane rather than just visiting it. For the price point and location, especially if you’re traveling solo or with someone who doesn’t need all the bells and whistles, it’s a pretty smart choice.

What Our Guests Say
I liked that the host was very accomodating and nice
The location was great. Sophie was nice. Cooking facilities good. Large fridge. Shared kitchen/apartment. Lockable rooms.
The view was beautiful. Place was clean.
Putting aside sharing a bathroom and kitchen with total strangers, the location at the top of Queen Street, one of the main streets in the CBD, 15 min walk from my room to Central Station (along Ann Street), made the price they charge compensate the minor inconveniences. Great building, very friendly staff.
