You know what surprised me most about this place?

You know what surprised me most about this place? The parking situation actually works. I mean, finding a decent spot in Brisbane CBD is usually like winning the lottery, but City Lux has you sorted from the moment you arrive. The apartment sits right on Mary Street, which honestly couldn’t be more central if it tried – you’re literally walking distance to Queen Street Mall, but far enough from the chaos that you can actually sleep at night.

The two-bedroom setup is cleverly done, not just thrown together like some of these converted apartments. The bedrooms are properly separated, so if you’re traveling with friends or family, nobody’s listening to each other’s late-night Netflix sessions. What really caught my attention was the pool area – it’s not huge, but it’s got that perfect afternoon sun that hits just right around 3 PM. I spent more time there than I expected, actually. The building itself has this sort of understated modern vibe, nothing too flashy but definitely well-maintained. You can tell they’ve put thought into the little things, like decent water pressure (honestly, you don’t appreciate this until you don’t have it) and proper blackout curtains that actually block out the morning light.

The location is where this place really shines though. You’re a five-minute walk to Central Station – and I mean a proper five minutes, not that exaggerated “five minutes” that usually means fifteen. The botanical gardens are right there too, which is perfect for morning runs or just when you need to escape the concrete for a bit. What locals know is that Mary Street puts you in this sweet spot where you can walk to South Bank in about ten minutes, but you’re also close enough to Fortitude Valley that a quick Uber won’t break the bank. The street itself gets a bit busy during peak hours – it’s a main thoroughfare after all – but the windows are decent enough that it’s not intrusive. I was there during a weekday and honestly forgot about the traffic pretty quickly. The building’s got good bones, you know? That solid feel that makes you think it’ll still be nice in ten years, not like some of these flash developments that look tired after five minutes.

Great apartment in prime CBD location Greater location, easy check in, nice space, everything we needed for a 4 night trip.

What could be improved: It was abit noisy on the balcony with all the building works underway nearby

Exceptional Location was good and very clean the level was good (30) great city view.Large balcony with lounge and table.plus extras where great.Parking came with the room.

What could be improved: The lounge was uncomfortable, and the bath was hard to get into as it was very high.
It's no good if you had knee problems.

Superb Good location: nearby queen street mall, the star, George street, south bank etc. has nice bakery/pastry, parks etc.

What could be improved: The bathtub is too high for us, especially not so convenient for expecting mums and old folks.

Superb The place was very close to the centre of Brisbane city, the casino and South Bank was an easy walk across the bridge. The apartment had everything we needed, and it was easy to get the key, and the free car parking was convenient.

Perfect for our one week stay. Full equipped kitchen, spacious apartment and walking distance to Queen strewn The apartment was spacious, clean and had all the utensils and furniture we needed. It has 2 bedrooms - a master bedroom and another smaller room with single bed). Coffee pods, coffee machine, nice big stove, microwave, bid fridge, washing power, washing machine, dryer all included. We would definitely stay there again

Great apartment, great host, great location, what's not to like - go there - highly recommended Great location, easy/secure parking, well equippet (everything you need for a short/long stay), spacious, great balcony, fine kitchen facilities. We spent a lot of time in the apartment as we stayed during the tropical cyclone "Alfred" (first time in 50 year with this kind of weather) - we really felt "at home" and were happy that we didn't stay in a hotel, but in a "home away from home". Can highly recommend this apartment.
