Sunnybank gets overlooked by a lot of visitors, but it’s where the real food scene lives – you’re walking distance from some of the best Asian restaurants in the city, and I mean the kind of places where locals queue up on weekends. The Market Square shopping center is right there when you need groceries or want to grab bubble tea, and getting into the CBD is surprisingly easy with the bus routes along Mains Road. Parking was stress-free too, which… well, anyone who’s driven around Brisbane knows that’s not always a given.

What really impressed me was how thoughtfully everything was set up inside. The beds are actually comfortable (not those rock-hard mattresses you sometimes get), and there’s proper storage space in each room – little things that matter when you’re staying more than a couple nights.
