Charming 3BR Inner City Haven Highgate Hill

So I stumbled across this place on End Street last month, and honestly, it caught me off guard in the best way possible. The Charming 3BR Inner City Haven (yeah, I know, the name’s a bit much) sits right in the heart of Highgate Hill, and when I say heart, I mean you’re literally walking distance from everything that matters in Brisbane without dealing with the Valley chaos. The house itself has this lovely Queenslander vibe – you know, those wide verandas and high ceilings that actually keep you cool instead of relying on air con 24/7.

What really got me was how lived-in it felt, if that makes sense. The three bedrooms are genuinely spacious (not those shoebox hotel rooms where you’re bumping into furniture), and the kitchen – well, you could actually cook a proper meal here. I mean, there’s a full-sized fridge and everything. The living areas flow together nicely, which was perfect when our group wanted to hang out without being on top of each other. And the parking situation – thank god – because anyone who’s tried to find a spot in the inner city knows it’s basically a blood sport. They’ve got dedicated spaces, which honestly saved our sanity.

The location is what really sells it though. You’re about a ten-minute walk down to South Bank (downhill, which your legs will appreciate), and the city’s right there across the river. But here’s the thing – Highgate Hill still has that neighborhood feel. There’s this little corner store that stays open late, and the local cafe does actually decent coffee, not tourist trap stuff. The streets are pretty quiet at night too, which surprised me given how close everything is. I was expecting more traffic noise, but the house sits back from the main road enough that you’re not hearing every car that goes by. Only minor gripe – the stairs up to the house are a bit steep, so if you’re hauling heavy luggage, maybe pack light or prepare for a workout. But honestly, for the price point and the space you get, it’s a solid choice. Way better than cramming into a hotel room downtown, and you actually feel like you’re living in Brisbane for a bit instead of just visiting it.
