You know what caught me off guard about CASSA QW? It’s one of those places that actually lives up to its “modern apartments” promise without feeling sterile or trying too hard. I mean, Margaret Street isn’t exactly where you’d expect to find a hidden gem – it’s this quiet little stretch that most people walk right past on their way to Queen Street Mall – but that’s honestly part of what makes it work.
The apartments themselves feel more like someone’s carefully curated city pad than a hotel room. The kitchens aren’t just for show either; they’re actually functional with proper counter space and appliances that don’t look like they were bought in bulk from a hotel supply catalog. I spent a good chunk of my morning there making coffee and watching Brisbane wake up through these floor-to-ceiling windows. The whole building has this clean, minimalist thing going on, but it’s warm minimalism if that makes sense – not the kind that makes you feel like you’re living in a showroom. The Cassa management clearly knows what they’re doing; check-in was smooth, and when I had a question about the air conditioning (which, let’s be honest, you need in Brisbane), they sorted it out within minutes.
What really sold me on the location was how walkable everything is, but in a way that feels natural rather than touristy. You’re literally a two-minute stroll from the botanical gardens, which is perfect for morning runs or when you need to escape the city buzz for a bit. The Queen Street Mall is right there too, but you’re just far enough away that you don’t get caught up in the weekend shopping chaos unless you want to. And here’s something the booking sites don’t tell you – there’s this great little coffee spot called Grind Coffee just around the corner that locals actually go to, not just hotel guests looking for their caffeine fix. The whole CBD is compact enough that you can walk to most places, but if you’re heading to South Bank or the airport, the transit connections are solid. Parking can be a bit of a pain if you’re driving (welcome to Brisbane CBD), but honestly, you probably won’t need a car anyway. The building itself is pretty quiet – I was expecting more street noise being so central, but Margaret Street doesn’t get the heavy traffic that some of the main drags do. It’s that sweet spot where you feel connected to everything without being overwhelmed by it.

Great Stay, modern and comfortable Location, fresh and new, great layout
What could be improved: No mugs for good cuppa tea or coffee. Air con had a mind of its own. Master bedroom was hot whilst rest of apartment was cold. No instructions of how to use.

The views of the Brisbane River were fantastic. Walking distance to stores and the Queen Street Mall. Attached to the new casino (didn’t donate any money there). Great communications with the property managers.
Perfect location, spectacular views, modern, clean and comfortable The location was great. The apartment is spacious and the views are spectacular. The hosts replied to any questions promptly
What could be improved: Not having anywhere to leave our bags before the apartment was ready was inconvenient. The fridge is a little small for the space and double doors on that cabinet aren’t ideal. A slightly larger couch would have made the apartment a little more comfortable
Nice views, couldn't enjoy the fresh air, clean spacious rooms. Probably wouldn't stay again. Views were amazing 👌👏
What could be improved: The fact that I paid for a "balcony" and when we arrived at our room, the said balcony was actually a window that opened and closed into a semi balcony and was locked for the entire duration of our stay, so I couldn't enjoy the nice air or outside. I felt claustrophobic and annoyed. So a warning of it being locked before arrival would have made me reconsider our booking..
Once we got the keys to the unit , which were easy to get once we understood how, we had a fantastic 4 days Excellent views ! Great location!
