Look, I’ll be straight with you about this place – the Brisbane Luxury Gabba Apartment on Duke Street is one of those finds that makes you feel like you cracked some local code. When I first walked into apartment 509, honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another residential building in Kangaroo Point. But then you step inside and it’s like… okay, someone actually thought about how people really want to live when they’re away from home.
The thing about staying here is the location – and I don’t mean that in the usual “convenient location” way that every hotel claims. I mean you’re literally a five-minute walk to the Gabba (hence the name), so if you’re here during cricket season or catching an AFL match, you’ll hear the crowd noise drifting over on game days. Some people might find that annoying, but honestly? It adds this great energy to the whole area. Plus, you’re right on the river bend where all the CityCats dock, so getting into the city is actually easier than from most CBD hotels. I found myself taking those little ferry rides just because the views are ridiculous – you get that perfect postcard shot of the Story Bridge without fighting tourist crowds.
What really got me was how the apartment feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room. The kitchen has proper appliances (not those sad mini-fridges), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The balcony faces toward the city, and in the evenings when those office towers light up, you know what? It’s pretty spectacular. During the day you can see people jogging along the river boardwalk below – it’s sort of mesmerizing, actually. The building itself is quiet; I never heard neighbors, which is impressive considering you’re in the middle of everything. Parking was included in some kind of secure garage situation, which saved me from the usual Brisbane parking nightmare.
The whole Kangaroo Point area has this laid-back vibe that’s hard to find in most city centers. There’s this little strip of cafes and restaurants along Main Street that locals actually go to – not tourist traps, just good food without the markup. I ended up having breakfast at the same coffee shop three days in a row because the barista remembered my order and the regulars were friendly without being pushy. The apartment’s close enough to walk to South Bank when you want that tourist experience, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with crowds every time you step outside.
I mean, it’s not perfect – the elevator is a bit slow, and the check-in process was slightly confusing (you pick up keys from a different location), but these are minor things. What matters is that this place gets the balance right between being comfortable and being in the thick of things. You wake up feeling like you live in Brisbane rather than just visiting it, which is honestly worth way more than whatever fancy amenities some chain hotel might throw at you.

What Our Guests Say
Great location. Shame about the construction works that started at 6.30am every morning. And the hot water system needs Very clean, comfortable and well appointed apartment.
What could be improved: The water pressure in the shower was terrible. The hot water system would only allow either one sink for dishes, or one shower per day. We could not do both in the same day.
Perfect little space to get away from it all, even though you are in the heart of every everything! The property was very clean, stylish and well-appointed
What could be improved: All the little touches....retro furnishings and records on the walls.
Location good due to walking distance to training course at Kangaroo Point. Forget the rest. Location good as close to requirements. Apartment was clean and modern.
What could be improved: Key was difficult to obtain, lock box was tricky to open - took a long time.
TV unobtainable - internet based and would have had to download required viewing. All too hard!
Air conditioning switched to Filter Cleaning each night and slept in a ball of sweat! Very unpleasant, did not get much sleep.
Exceptional Location and accommodating.
Really enjoyable Great location. Comfortable & relaxing
What could be improved: Nothing
Awesome location for the Gabba - Great facilities!!!! The location was brilliant. - right beside the Gabba and 1 min walk, Facilities were great. The Pool on level 9 was excellent and the rooftop BBQs were awesome. We could see the cricket from the roof. Luke's instructions on access and unit details were great,
What could be improved: We had a little trouble getting the key from the lock box our fault. We also forgot to take some milk for morning coffee which was a shame because the pod machine was ready to go.
