The shower pressure is strong, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and – this is huge for me – the beds are actually comfortable, not just expensive-looking.

I kept expecting to find something wrong with the place, honestly. That perfect 10 rating seemed too good to be true, but after three nights there, I get it. I found myself using it as a base for day trips out to the Gold Coast hinterland, then coming back to this quiet pocket of the city to decompress. The only minor thing I’d mention is that parking can be a bit tight during peak times, but honestly, with the train station so close, you might not even need a car.
