Salisbury Hotel Motel
You know what caught me off guard about the Salisbury Hotel Motel?
You know what caught me off guard about the Salisbury Hotel Motel? It’s way better than you’d expect from the name alone. I mean, when you hear “hotel motel” you’re probably thinking roadside stop with questionable bedding, but this place on Toohey Road actually surprised me in the best way possible.
The location is honestly pretty smart if you know Brisbane at all. You’re tucked away from the city chaos but still close enough to everything that matters – and I’m talking about being near Griffith University Nathan campus, which explains why the staff seemed so used to helping people figure out the area. The whole Salisbury neighborhood has this quiet residential vibe that’s perfect if you want to sleep without sirens or late-night street noise, but you can still grab an Uber into the city center without breaking the bank. There’s this little shopping strip nearby too, nothing fancy but it’s got your basics covered for snacks or forgotten toiletries.
What really sold me on this place was the attention to detail – like, someone clearly cares about keeping things running smoothly. The rooms are clean in that “actually clean” way, not just surface-level tidy, and the beds are surprisingly comfortable for a 3-star spot. I stayed during what must have been a busy period (lots of families checking in, probably university-related stuff) and the front desk handled everything without that frazzled energy you get at some places. The parking situation is straightforward too, which honestly matters more than people think when you’re dealing with Brisbane traffic and trying to find a spot that won’t cost you extra. The whole setup feels like they’ve figured out what travelers actually need versus what sounds good in a brochure – practical stuff like decent water pressure, reliable wifi, and air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a jet engine. Even the little touches, like having enough power outlets near the bed and blackout curtains that actually block light, show they’ve thought about real-world comfort. It’s not trying to be boutique or fancy, just genuinely good at being a place where you can rest properly and get on with your Brisbane adventure without any accommodation drama getting in the way.

What Our Guests Say
Clean, perfect space and perfect space
Comfortable bed & good shower.
Convenient location & great staff.
Breakfast was very good and various selections.
No frills place, Accomodation is basic for what you need. Food and Beverage facilities on property are excellent as well as numerous restaurants surrounding the area. Work site was literally 200 meters from the property so it ticked all boxes for me. Price point fantastic for what you get. Lots of trade businesses in the area so if there for work a great location. Not really for tourists and doesnt market itself as such
Staff friendly
Comfortable, clean accomodation, couldn't ask for anything more.
Great location, pub at the front of facility but quiet considering that.
Rooms clean
The location was very nice near the Toohey Forest, the bushland up near where I was staying and a Kookaburra there.
No worries with an early checkin
Amazing friendly staff, clean and comfy accommodation and close to shops.
