The train station’s a decent walk – maybe 10 minutes – but there’s bus stops much closer if you’re not keen on the walk. Parking was straightforward, which is more than I can say for most Brisbane hotels. And here’s something I didn’t expect – the area gets surprisingly quiet at night despite being close to the city. You get that proper sleep that’s hard to find in more central locations. The breakfast was basic but fresh, and the coffee was actually drinkable (small victories, right?). Staff seemed to change shifts regularly, but everyone I met was genuinely friendly rather than just professionally polite. One morning, the cleaning lady even gave me directions to the nearest chemist when I was clearly looking lost in the lobby. It’s those little human touches that make a place memorable. Is it going to blow you away with luxury? No. But if you want a clean, honest place to stay that gives you a real taste of Brisbane life without the tourist markup, and you don’t mind being a bit outside the main action, this place delivers exactly what it promises.
