Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Brisbane, and Ivy and Eve Apartments honestly surprised me in the best way. When I first pulled up to 22 Merivale Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect – South Brisbane can be a bit hit or miss with accommodations – but this place has that perfect balance of being professional without feeling stuffy, you know?
The apartment itself was way more spacious than I anticipated, and I mean actually spacious, not just “spacious for Brisbane” spacious. The kitchen had everything I needed to avoid eating out every meal (which, let’s be honest, adds up fast in this city), and the living area didn’t feel like an afterthought. What really got me was the attention to detail – proper blackout curtains that actually work, decent water pressure in the shower, and thank god, air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a freight train. You’d be amazed how many places get these basics wrong. The balcony overlooking the neighborhood gives you a nice slice of local life without being right in the thick of the tourist chaos.
Here’s what I really appreciated though – the location is genuinely useful. You’re walking distance to the South Bank Parklands, which is perfect for morning runs or just wandering around when you need some green space. The CityCat terminal is close enough that you can actually rely on it for getting around (I used it to get to the CBD multiple times), and there’s a Woolworths practically around the corner for groceries. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Brisbane will tell you is not a given. The neighborhood gets a bit quiet at night, but honestly that worked for me – I could sleep without earplugs, and during the day there’s enough going on to feel connected to the city. The staff were pretty responsive when I had questions about the washing machine (it’s one of those European ones that takes forever but does the job), and check-in was smooth even though I arrived later than planned. I’d definitely come back here, especially if I’m in town for more than a couple nights and want to feel less like a tourist and more like I’m actually living somewhere for a bit.

It was conveniently located near the city center and the station. The facilities were clean and I was able to stay comfortably.
The location is great, close to the city and close to various public transport options. The facilities are good and the apartment had lovely views. We were very comfortable during our stay. We even received housekeeping which we did not expect for the length of our stay. We had left the apartment quite messy not knowing someone would enter, but the staff did a phenomenal job with housekeeping and left us feeling humbled. We really appreciate the hard work and making us feel welcome and comfortable during our stay.

Great location to attend event at Suncorp Stadium. Excellent bars and restaurants close by. My room was great.

The location and facilities were great. The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed. It was walking distance to lots of eateries and supermarkets. It also had a great little cafe across the road.
