Look, I’ll be straight with you about Hotel C Woolloongabba – it’s one of those places that grows on you once you figure out what you’re getting into. When I first pulled up to this three-star spot in Woolly (that’s what locals call Woolloongabba, by the way), I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. The building’s got that modern Australian hotel vibe – nothing fancy, but clean lines and it doesn’t try to be something it’s not.
The thing about staying here is you’re actually in a pretty sweet spot if you know Brisbane at all. You’re literally walking distance from the Gabba cricket ground, which is fantastic if you’re catching a game, but even if you’re not, the whole area has this energy to it. Stanley Street’s right there with some decent food options – I mean, you’re not going to find the city’s best restaurants, but there’s enough variety that you won’t get bored. The staff seemed genuinely helpful when I checked in, though honestly, the whole process was pretty no-frills. Don’t expect them to remember your name or anything, but they’ll sort you out quickly enough.
Here’s what I appreciated most about the place – it’s quiet at night, which surprised me given how close you are to the action. The rooms are… well, they’re hotel rooms, you know? Nothing Instagram-worthy, but the bed was comfortable and the shower had decent pressure. The air conditioning actually worked properly, which isn’t always a given in Brisbane’s humidity. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven around inner Brisbane will tell you is worth its weight in gold. What really sold me on the location was how easy it was to get around – you can walk to South Bank if you don’t mind a bit of a stroll, or hop on public transport and be in the city center in about ten minutes. The Cross River Rail runs right through Woolloongabba, so you’re connected to pretty much everywhere you’d want to go.
I won’t pretend this is a luxury experience – the 6.5 rating gives you a pretty fair idea of what you’re walking into. It’s functional, it’s clean, and it does what it says on the tin. If you’re the type who spends most of your time out exploring anyway, you’ll probably find it hits the sweet spot between price and location. Just don’t expect room service at midnight or a concierge who can get you impossible reservations – this is more about giving you a decent base to work from while you’re in Brisbane.

What Our Guests Say
All I needed Convenient for my needs
What could be improved: Key being offsite when without vehicle
Bad When I arrived at the property I made several attempts to open the door to the lobby (using the code provided with my booking confirmation) I then made multiple attempts to contact the property owner though was unsuccessful, as I wasn't able to reach them, I called & spoke to someone from the hotels customer service centre although there called dropped out, after which my calls went to an automated voicemail message saying it was after hrs.. I waited around outside the building for another hour hoping for a response from the property lesser, although when I did get a reply it was t>; inform me that I had already been provided with the details to collect the key, as I'd already explained in my messages the code wasn't working & couldn't reach them on the phone, I dec'ided to book a room somewhere else under the assumptiont that I'd be able to resolve the issue & seek reimbursement the following day.. An hour later I received a message saying I was to collect the keys from another location .. I informed them that I'd booked alternative scum accom accommodation after not reaching them for two hours after my booking.. I was refused a refund & even after pleading with them I was denied the $150 that they had listed às a few for check cleaning.
Good apartment - spacious - good appliances- would suggest booking direct with Hotel to save the hassles. Hotel staff e Location was excellent
What could be improved: Advertised on booking.com as Hotel C - is actually privately owned apartment in Hotel Chino which we discovered after 3 trips around the block in peak hour traffic searching for non existent Hotel C. Finally asked most helpful staff at Hotel Chino. Key pick up & drop off is off sight & some distance away which could be very confusing again in peak hour traffic & you did not know the area. No coffee in apartment only tea - ???
Disappointing bedding only sheets ; thin blanket & un-ironed empty doona cover on the bed - no additional blanket anywhere in unit. - quite odd.
Clean and comfortable will use again. Clean and comfortable
What could be improved: Need more blankets for winter
Good Great location for what I needed. Apartment was a great size
What could be improved: The shower completely floods the bathroom floor and with has no curtain or screen. No mop provided so the floor stays wet. Dangerous at night to walk on wet tiles
