She also mentioned that the Woolworths shopping center is just a five-minute walk if you need to grab snacks or forgotten toiletries – practical stuff that actually matters when you’re traveling. The hotel restaurant serves a decent breakfast, though I’d honestly recommend exploring some of the local cafes instead. There’s this little Vietnamese place about ten minutes away that does incredible pho, and the weekend markets at nearby Sunnybank are worth the short drive if you’re into that sort of thing.

Look, Happy Haven isn’t trying to be the flashiest hotel in Brisbane, and that’s exactly what makes it special. It’s the kind of place where everything just works – the Wi-Fi is fast, the air conditioning is quiet, and you’re not constantly being bothered by housekeeping or maintenance issues. If you’re looking for a rooftop pool or a fancy spa, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a genuinely comfortable stay in a part of Brisbane that feels authentic rather than touristy, with staff who actually seem to enjoy their jobs, then this place is worth considering. Plus, at these prices, you can spend your money on exploring the city instead of just sleeping in it.
