Parking can be typical city-expensive, but there’s decent public transport connections nearby, and if you’re planning day trips out to the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast, you’re well-positioned without being stuck in the thick of tourist central. The staff generally knows their stuff too – they’ll point you toward the good local spots rather than just handing you a generic brochure. It’s that kind of place where an 8.4 rating actually makes sense, you know? Not perfect, but solid in all the ways that matter when you just want a comfortable base to explore from.
