You know what really caught me off guard about this Brisbane place? It’s actually a proper house – not some cramped apartment masquerading as a “home away from home.” When I first pulled up to 4012, I honestly thought I’d gotten the wrong address because it looked way too nice for what I’d paid. The pool hit me first (you can see it from the street), then I noticed the fire pit area tucked off to the side, and I’m thinking okay, this might actually live up to the photos.

The four-bedroom setup works brilliantly if you’re traveling with family or a group of friends who don’t want to be on top of each other 24/7. I mean, there’s real space here – the kind where you can spread out your stuff without playing Tetris with everyone else’s luggage. The master bedroom’s got this nice view of the backyard, and honestly, waking up to see that pool sparkling in the morning Brisbane sun… well, it beats staring at a hotel air conditioning unit. The other bedrooms are decent sized too, though the one near the front gets a bit of street noise – nothing crazy, just something to keep in mind if you’re a light sleeper. What I really appreciated was the kitchen actually being equipped for cooking real meals, not just reheating takeout. There’s something satisfying about making your own coffee in the morning instead of hunting down the nearest café (though let’s be real, Brisbane’s got some fantastic coffee spots nearby if that’s your thing).

The pool’s the real star here – it’s not huge, but it’s perfect for cooling off after a day exploring the city or just lounging around with a beer. The fire pit area turned into our evening hangout spot, and I’ll admit I didn’t expect to use it much when I booked, but there’s something about sitting around a fire that just makes conversations flow better. Location-wise, you’re in a proper residential neighborhood, so it’s quiet at night but still easy enough to get into the city center when you want to. Parking’s right there on the property, which honestly saved me a headache – anyone who’s tried to park in Brisbane’s CBD knows what I mean. The whole experience felt less like staying in accommodation and more like borrowing a friend’s place for the week. Sure, it’s not a five-star resort with room service and all that, but sometimes you just want a comfortable base where you can actually relax without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase in a generic hotel room.
