First Impressions
Walking up to Charming 1920’s 4Br freestanding Plantation Qldr. on Lambton Street, you immediately get why this place has such a devoted following. This isn’t your typical hotel — it’s actually a beautifully preserved Queenslander home that feels like stepping into someone’s lovingly maintained family property. The wide verandas and classic timber construction give you that authentic Brisbane character you just can’t fake in modern builds.
The Space and Layout
What struck me most was how spacious everything feels — four bedrooms spread across a proper freestanding house means you’re not hearing neighbors through thin walls. Each room has its own personality, and honestly, the period details are incredible. The high ceilings and timber floors aren’t just for show either; they actually keep the place cool during Brisbane’s sticky summers. You know what’s really nice? Having a proper kitchen where you can make coffee exactly how you like it, not fumble with those tiny hotel kettles.
Location in Annerley
I’ll be honest — Annerley isn’t the flashiest Brisbane suburb, but that’s exactly why it works so well for this four-star property. You’re close enough to the city (about 15 minutes by train) but far enough out to feel like you’re experiencing real Brisbane life. The parking situation is brilliant too — having your own spot on-site means you can actually explore the southern suburbs without the usual Brisbane parking headaches. Couples seem to really get this balance; there’s something romantic about having your own little piece of old Queensland to yourselves.
What Makes It Special
The thing about staying in a 1920s Queenslander is that every detail tells a story. The wraparound verandas aren’t just pretty — they’re where you’ll end up having your morning coffee and evening drinks because the breeze is perfect. I mean, modern hotels try to recreate this kind of atmosphere with their “heritage-inspired” designs, but there’s no substitute for the real thing. The fact that recent guests rated the location so highly (8.9 out of 10) tells you something — this isn’t just about the building, it’s about how it sits in the neighborhood.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is the combination of authentic character and practical comfort. You get the charm of staying in a piece of Brisbane history, but with all the modern conveniences you actually need. The space means you can spread out properly — whether you’re here for a romantic getaway or need room for a small group. And honestly, after staying in countless generic hotels, there’s something refreshing about a place that has genuine personality. The high guest rating (8.6) makes sense when you experience how thoughtfully everything’s been maintained while keeping that 1920s soul intact.

What Our Guests Say
We were so pleasantly surprised by this wonderful home and the quaint style of the house. We were a family of 7 adults and were able to comfortably fit in the space, even with having to share only one restroom. We just spaced out our showers to ensure we all had warm water. The kitchen was well equipped and we made delicious dinners and breakfasts during our stay. The living room was comfortable with deep couches that fit almost all of us snuggled up close on the couch. The beds were a bit firm but still comfortable and warm.
Location, privacy, whole property use
So close to the hospital and the owner was so accommodating.
Beautifully renovated. Close to shops.
Everything this was the most beautiful old Queenslander house with everything more modern very cute amazing host really thinks of everything. This will make you fell so at home with everything needed without having it with you on holiday. Will recommend this to everyone. Wish we took photos but we didn’t get around to doing so but as pictured in photos.
The property was so close to woolworths and bws, close to public transport, but still in a fairly quiet area for Brisbane. Very spacious house and all facilities were great!
