The bathroom’s got one of those rainfall showerheads that actually works, not the weak trickle you sometimes get in apartment hotels.

Location-wise, this is where Arena really shines, and I don’t just mean because it’s close to stuff. Yes, you can walk to South Bank in minutes, and the Cultural Centre precinct is right there, but what I loved was how connected it feels to actual Brisbane life. There’s a decent IGA just around the corner on Grey Street, and you’re close enough to West End that you can easily wander over for proper coffee or dinner without needing to plan your whole day around it. The riverside walk is perfect for morning runs – I actually found myself getting up earlier just to take advantage of it. Public transport is sorted too; the South Brisbane train station is walkable, and you’ve got multiple bus routes practically outside your door. Honestly, after staying here, I realized how many Brisbane hotels stick you in areas that feel disconnected from the city’s rhythm. The only minor gripe I had was that weekend evenings can get a bit lively with people heading to South Bank, but it’s not disruptive – more like gentle background buzz of a city that’s actually alive. For the price point and what you get, Arena Apartments hits that sweet spot where you feel like you’re living in Brisbane rather than just visiting it.
