Okay, so I’ll be honest – when I first saw this place listed as “Amazing River View,” I rolled my eyes a bit because, you know, half the listings in Brisbane CBD claim amazing views. But walking into Unit 134 on Macrossan Street? Actually pretty amazing. The apartment sits high enough that you get this sweeping look across the Brisbane River, and if you’re lucky enough to snag a sunset evening, the whole city just lights up in front of you. I mean, it’s one of those moments where you actually pause Netflix (yeah, they’ve got that sorted) and just watch the CityCats puttering along below.

The three-bedroom setup works really well for groups – I’ve stayed here with friends a couple times now, and there’s enough space that you’re not tripping over each other’s stuff. The wifi is legitimately fast too, which matters more than you’d think when everyone’s trying to upload their river photos at once. What I really appreciate is that they’ve got the parking sorted in the building – honestly, trying to find street parking around there is a nightmare, especially during weekdays when all the office workers are around. The apartment itself feels lived-in rather than sterile, if that makes sense. There’s actual personality to the place, not just generic hotel furniture that looks like it came from the same catalog as every other rental.

Location-wise, you’re really in the thick of things without being right in the chaos of Queen Street Mall. Macrossan Street is sort of tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the weekend party crowds, but you can still walk to South Bank in about fifteen minutes, or catch the river ferry if you’re feeling lazy. I’ve found myself grabbing coffee at that little place on Alice Street more mornings than I should admit, and the Woolworths at 180 Queen Street is close enough for those inevitable grocery runs. The building itself is pretty quiet – I think because it’s more residential than some of the party-focused accommodations you’ll find closer to the nightlife strip. You’ll hear the occasional river traffic, but it’s more white noise than distraction. The check-in process is smooth too, none of that awkward waiting around in lobbies – they send you the codes ahead of time and you just head straight up. With that 8.8 rating, I get why people keep coming back here. It’s got that sweet spot of being central enough to matter but comfortable enough to actually relax.
