Walking into the lobby, there’s this immediate sense that they’ve thought about how people actually live when they’re away from home for more than a night or two.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to be in the thick of Brisbane’s CBD without the crazy tourist trap feeling. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Queen Street Mall, but here’s the thing – you’re positioned just far enough down George Street that you don’t get the constant stream of people and street performers right outside your window. I stayed on the seventh floor and could actually sleep with the windows cracked open, which is saying something for a city hotel. The apartments themselves feel properly lived-in, not sterile. Full kitchens with actual cookware (not those sad little hotel coffee makers masquerading as kitchen facilities), washing machines that don’t require a engineering degree to operate, and – this is key – proper dining tables where you can spread out your laptop and actually work. The beds are solid too, none of that rock-hard hotel mattress nonsense.

What really won me over was the staff’s approach to service. They’re helpful without being hovering, you know? Like when I couldn’t figure out the building’s parking situation (it’s a bit of a maze if you’re coming from the wrong direction), the front desk guy didn’t just give me directions – he actually walked me to the elevator and explained the whole system. Speaking of parking, yes there’s valet, but honestly if you’re comfortable with city parking, there are decent options within a block or two that’ll save you some cash. The building itself has that solid, established feel – it’s not trying to be the flashiest new thing on the block, but everything works properly and feels maintained. The elevators are quick, the hallways are quiet, and the whole place has this sort of understated reliability that you really appreciate when you’re dealing with work calls at weird hours or just want to collapse after a long day exploring South Bank. I’d definitely stay here again, especially for longer trips when you want to feel like you’re living somewhere rather than just passing through.
